Adopted by Cabinet on 25 September 2025, NRES's updated climate policy replaces the 15-year-old NPCC 1.0. It sets out Malaysia's aspiration to use carbon pricing and carbon markets for climate financing and lays the policy groundwork for the forthcoming Climate Change Act and a domestic emissions trading system.
