Malaysia's overarching DRR policy framework, launched 3 October 2024 aligned with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030. Structured around 4 principles, 5 strategic cores, and 6 main targets, it serves as the primary national reference for disaster risk governance across federal, state, and local authorities, the private sector, and community levels. Goal: make Malaysia "a safer and disaster-resilient country" by mainstreaming inclusive DRR into sustainable development. Encourages stakeholders to develop their own DRR Action Plans (with budgets and targets) that are monitored via the national platform MyDRR. Emphasises the use of science and technology in decision-making.
