Law on Ratification on the Approval of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement

Country :

Cambodia

Year :

2021

Status :

Implemented

This is Cambodia’s most significant legislative response to the AIPA resolution. Adopted by the National Assembly, this law legally embeds Cambodia into the world's largest free trade bloc, uniting ASEAN with five major Dialogue Partners (Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea). By ratifying RCEP, the legislature codified a framework that eliminates tariffs on up to 90% of traded goods over 20 years. This law serves as the primary statutory vehicle to mitigate tariff-related challenges, simplify rules of origin, and leverage regional economic cooperation
