This Act, which established the Land Public Transport Commission (now the Land Public Transport Agency - APAD), provides the regulatory framework for all land-based public transport in Peninsular Malaysia. It gives the government the authority to implement cross-border transport agreements, such as the ASEAN Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Inter-State Transport (AFAFIST), by regulating and licensing operators involved in cross-border services.
