HealthTech Roadmap 2022

HealthTech Roadmap 2022: ​Cambodia's HealthTech Roadmap 2022 is a strategic initiative developed by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MISTI) to enhance the integration of technology within the health sector over a ten-year period. This roadmap aims to improve population health outcomes by leveraging advancements in health technologies. ​

Key Visions:

The roadmap is structured around three interrelated visions:

1.     An Integrated One Health Approach: Promotes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health to address comprehensive health challenges.​

2.     Multidisciplinary Policy and Governance for Health Technology: Advocates for collaborative policymaking and governance involving various sectors to effectively implement health technologies.​

3.     Strengthened Research and Knowledge Sharing Capacity: Emphasizes the importance of bolstering research capabilities and facilitating knowledge exchange to support technological innovations in health.​

Strategic Objectives and Supporting Technologies:

To realize these visions, the roadmap outlines several objectives alongside corresponding technological advancements:

·       Short-Term (1-3 years): Focus on ensuring nationwide internet access and developing cloud computing facilities to support digitalization in healthcare.​

·       Medium-Term (4-6 years): Target the development of blockchain medical records and advanced telemedicine infrastructure to enhance service provision.​

·       Long-Term (7-10 years): Aim to establish a knowledge-sharing health sector embodying the One Health approach, facilitated by the adoption of advanced technologies.​

Recommendations:

The roadmap provides specific recommendations to achieve its objectives:

·       Human Resource Development: Invest in building the capacity of healthcare professionals to effectively utilize health technologies.​

·       Clear Financing Pathways: Establish sustainable financial models to support the integration and maintenance of health technologies.​

·       Medical Infrastructure Development: Upgrade and expand medical infrastructure to accommodate new technological implementations.
