The principal subsidiary legislation under the Food Act 1983, containing 10 Parts covering labelling, food additives, packaging, and standards for specific food/beverage categories. Alcohol-specific provisions: Regulation 361 sets the general standard for alcoholic beverages (>2% v/v alcohol); Regulations 362–386B set product-specific standards (wine, beer, spirits, toddy, samsu, compounded hard liquor, dealcoholised beverages); mandates the minimum purchase age of 21 and the health-warning label "MEMINUM ARAK BOLEH MEMBAHAYAKAN KESIHATAN." Has been amended multiple times since 2016, most recently via the Food (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2025 (effective 1 April 2026), which revised alcohol content limits and added standards for tequila and mezcal.
