An Act "to protect the public against health hazards and fraud in the preparation, sale and use of food." Prohibits the sale of food unfit for human consumption or containing harmful substances, and empowers the Minister to make subsidiary regulations (the mechanism through which the Food Regulations 1985 exist). Enforced by the Food Safety and Quality Division (FSQD), MOH. Alcohol relevance: the parent Act under which alcohol content standards, labelling rules, and the minimum purchase age (21) are prescribed via its subsidiary regulations.
